Overview

This course will enable you to ensure customer and stakeholder requirements are part of the scoping of problem-solving activities and lead a team to develop standard responses to contain problems and reduce impact to customers/stakeholders. List key tools and techniques to assess and mitigate risk in the initial stages of problem understanding and the deployment of solutions, including but not limited to risk matrix, FMEA, PDPC and mistake proofing. Lead a team to generate ideas for solutions using idea generation techniques including but not limited to silent idea generation and structured idea generation.

You will have the knowledge to:

  • Ensure that problems and potential solutions are assessed from a customer/stakeholder point of view.
  • Ensure that risks are assessed from a customer/stakeholder point of view.
  • Ensure that solutions are embedded through robust process management.
  • Ensure customer and stakeholder requirements are part of the scoping of problem-solving activities.
  • Ensure that risk management is part of problem-solving activities.
  • Ensure effective actions are taken to resolve problems and address root causes.
  • Involve external providers/suppliers where required for effective problem solving

You will learn the skills to:

  • Lead improvement teams in gathering insight on customer/stakeholder needs, developing appropriate measures and using appropriate tools for fact-based decision-making.
  • Lead the implementation of change resulting from problem-solving activities.
  • Ensure that their own specific knowledge is appropriate to support problem-solving activities.
  • Lead the selection of the most appropriate improvement tools and techniques for the problem-solving activity.
  • Ensure that their knowledge of all appropriate legal, regulatory, societal and standard-related requirements is included in problem-solving activities as required.
  • Be a fact-based thinker and quality coach.
